Addictions are rampant in our society today. Many people are besieged by addiction to alcohol, drugs, food, sex, and co-dependency, to name a few. In the words of Celebrate Recovery, people are struggling with hurts, habits, and hang-ups. The bondage is real. The consequences are devastating, but there is hope.
Spiritual direction can be beneficial both the addict and the loved ones of the addict. The ultimate goal of spiritual direction is to assist one to deepen their relationship with God. Seeing someone in recovery grow in God’s grace and love and, ultimately move forward toward freedom and wholeness is a great joy.
I have over 7 years’ experience of giving direction, support and encouragement to addicts. I am well versed in 12-Step Recovery programs and their principles. Recovery from addiction is spiritual, not just mental and physical.
